Embedding Indigenous Perspectives Workshop
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are a valuable and significant part of our history, culture and community. Embedding Indigenous Perspectives provides opportunities to extend our knowledge of other cultures and to develop the attitudes and skills to acknowledge and respect each other’s perspectives. To implement genuine inclusive environments than a meaningful understanding of acknowledgement and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities is essential.
When Embedding Indigenous Perspectives in the workplace and curriculum there are two important considerations to keep in mind. This is avoiding stereotypes and ensuring that content is truly embedded rather than singled out as special, different or tokenistic.
