SA VET for School

VET can help you kick start your career while you’re still at school, and can even count towards your SACE.

In South Australia VSS students can funded under the Skilling South Australia initiative.

What is VET for School (VSS)?

WorkReady is a state government initiative helping young people develop skills and build meaningful pathways to meet the workforce needs of industry.

Students who seek a subsidised training place in an approved Flexible Industry Pathways (FIPS) course will be required to participate in a VET Readiness Orientation (VETRO) which includes upfront assessment, induction and orientation to VET carried out by an RTO.

The VETRO process will determine the student’s readiness and identify a personalised approach to the learning which may include additional training and wraparound supports.

VET Readiness Orientation (VETRO) is an upfront assessment, induction and orientation in VET to ensure that students enrol in a course that is right for them and has their personal and learning support needs planned for.

The VETRO process will determine a student’s readiness to commence a VET pathway and identify any support that a student may need to commence vocational training. VETRO will usually be carried out in year 10 once a student has decided to commence a vocational pathway.
